“Flight 12 to Washington is delayed due to weather. Please wait in the gate area for further announcements”.
I stand and wait and contemplate.
Why I am standing here contemplating?
Time...
is passing...
slowly....
Were we ever meant to leave the ground? I wonder.
Time is passing...
slowly...

Finally.
“Flight 12 to Washington is ready for boarding. First class to the left, cattle to the right.”
So I'm off marching with the rest of the cattle.
Bags in hand.
Find my seat.
Buckle my belt.
And begin to write this poem.
The door closes.
The plane is pushing back.
Off we go.
